I am baaaaaack.
This column is specifically about the May 2023 meeting of this committee. Why is it that co-chair Kevin Johnson got the item on the agenda to talk about finances when no one else was given the information he “couldn’t wrap his head around”? Why is it that those appointed to the committee are now somehow better than the rest of the citizens of Dixon who are all to be considered potential terrorists and a threat to our water conveyance system?
This is the typical modus operandi of those who have been leading Dixon down the primrose path for years. Hide all the information we can, let out only the information leading us in one direction, and then expect different results at the ballot box when we decide we aren’t buying the bull.
When I asked Bogue to identify “just one street vendor who was not Hispanic” in my accusation that this is a racist ordinance, he first ridiculed the comment at the first reading and then attempted a deflection that vendors in San Jose were other than Hispanic. Are any of you concerned about what is happening in San Jose or do any of you actually think Dixon will become a San Jose? Apples to oranges, my friend.

If your fundraising research uncovers some information that concerns you, don’t be afraid to ask tough questions. After all, this is not a monarchy where the politicians rule us by birthright. In America, they work for us!

At the moment, much of our collective political attention is focused around the two party system and the finger pointing that goes on between the two parties … the party system is like a sporting event with two opposing teams, the red and the blue teams, and these two teams engage in a never-ending shouting match.
